Coming as a surprise to most, and as no surprise to few, we've been showing off our designs in-person. With that, we've impressed a number of people to such a great extent that we were offered commission work to re-design some basements and kitchens! This is great news, as we can use those funds toward our huge community project!
Along with that, we're announcing that we're about a third of the way through our first "exploded" plan. We have the measurements down to a science, so we'll be able to later copy the individual rooms into other compatible floorplans to demonstrate layout options. From there, we'll develop a system that will help customers to fit the rooms they like together. That last part is going to take a lot of time, work, and collaboration with the developer of the app. So, be on the lookout for more information about that app. We'll be officially endorsing it. The more successful he is, the easier it may be for us to get his help. Once we rollout our new designs, we'll open up more commission work. If you like what we do, and are planning new builds [we cannot offer to remotely redesign existing builds at this time], we're thinking of offering our services for about a third of the bottom market rate. That rate is $1500 per plan, and we'd like to lock it down at $500 - $700 per plan. We'll be offering flat pricing, so the best offer would be the $700 offer to design the entire home from scratch. You'll need to inquire with us first, so don't dig up our PayPal and just send us money with a request in the notes. We won't accept payment until we can guarantee that we're able to meet your specifications. You know what? We've got a gripe. As you should know, we here at GP are die hard gamers as well as structural design hawgs. We absolutely LOVE both the things and, as nice as it is to love either other things or just one of those things, we are offended by very many standard layouts. Now, don't click off just yet. Give us a few more minutes of your time to explain ourselves.
800 square feet! $1500 per month! That's insane! And why is that a problem? They're all style, no substance. You get two basic bedrooms, one or two tiny bathrooms, no guarantee of in-unit laundry, no utilities, a small kitchen, and an unjustifiably large living room. If you're lucky, you'll get a view in that price. On top of that, you get loud neighbors, poor maintenance, community filth - or - strict rules to prevent community filth, shared plumbing issues, shared electrical failures, regular rent increases, and shared infestations! That's not a deal! Do you know what we see all the time? Neglect of the bath space. They use smaller than standard bathtubs now, they design small strip bathrooms, and the toilet is right up on the bathtub or shower. That's disgusting! No, really. That's disgusting. Why do we, the general populace, have to be okay with getting out of the shower, all clean and smelling good, and running into the toilet? Now you're rubbing toilet germs all over your previously clean body. That's gross!
It's not your set up that sucks, it's where you have to put it that does. The biggest insult is the fact that the glorified dorm rooms they sell or rent us don't have to feel so small. It's just that the designs are bad. That's why we also design structures for the community we'd like to someday build. All that being said, we're skipping the sign off and instead closing with a few renders of a new home we just finished planning. It's a two bedroom ranch that's only 907 square feet. The design is centered on maximizing the usefulness of the space, a big beautiful bathroom, and a glorious kitchen to make totally stacked sandwiches in. Have a look and please enjoy. Peace. |
