Microsoft & Bethesda Sitting in A Tree
Opinion Time!It comes as a shock to us that analysts, tech enthusiasts, and gamers would want Nvidia and AMD to fail at their efforts to get other people, including THEM, GPU's. At least in the US, it's illegal for any company to exclude any demographic from purchasing otherwise publicly available products and / or services on the grounds of them being what they are. That being the case, the two tech giants aren't able to legally bar crypto miners from purchasing graphics cards. So, they came up with an alternative: a gaming product line and a dedicated mining product line. There are worldwide shortages of high quality silicon. That being said, the ever increasing demand for more powerful chips is only exacerbating the issue. Producing cards specifically for mining, that don't require as much purity [because miners are going to essentially ruin the cards before reselling them anyway], is the more legally sound and logical approach. However, speculators would rather these two fail and instead demand even more cards, faulting the companies for the lack of supply and falsely accusing them of price fixing. This is not the case. The supply shortage isn't intentional. This is the real problem. Yes, you read that right: sand. It doesn't fall on the tech companies to fix this problem alone. Look at how much we use just for construction. Simply telling Nvidia and AMD, "MAKE MORE CARDS," or, "STOP SELLING TO MINERS," is much worse than being reasonable and supporting the initiative. That's a lot better than letting small groups of hundred millionaires and billionaires buy all of the nice things. They basically talked miners out of buying the new cards. Sure, that makes sense.
